WOOCS 2.2.4

Inspired and making a statement with art.

Inspired by the global plastic in the ocean crisis,  Floating Plastic Ocean is the second painting expressing the horror of the devastation we humans are creating in our oceans.

How Much Plastic is in the Ocean?

A staggering 5.25 trillion tons of plastic is in our oceans. On top of that, 8.3 million tons of macroplastics (visually identifiable pieces) and microplastics (less than 5mm) enter our marine environments every year with estimates to double by 2025.

Below are paintings Svein created in late 2020.  The black background highlights the mixed colours of plastic rubbish floating in vast masses across our great oceans.  Time is running out for our precious sea creatures with over fishing and plastics destroying their environment.
